Recruiting Pokemon Breakout - Zombies, Time Loop and Investigations

Synopsis :
Sidequel to my first (and my only other) game, Pokemon Otherworlds, Chronologically taking place about 1 month before it and crossing over to it during the climax.
This game features Wally as the protagonist in an alternate universe where a zombie breakout started about 14 months ago. You arrive back to your home region from Alola alone in a damaged ferry and make your way to the nearby safe zone where all kinds of (mis)adventure await you.

Mechanics :
-Stealth (make a return from Otherworlds)
-Quick Time Events
-Parkour
-Investigation puzzles
-Crafting

Story Features :
-Play as Wally.
-Detective Thriller about uncovering the truth behind the zombie conspiracy.
-Exploring a ruined Hoenn and its remaining settlement/factions.
-Flashbacks from the time in Alola.
-Trapped in a time loop, Death = reset.[Note : This is strictly for story puposes and doesn't apply gameplay-wise i.e. Losing a fight ≠ death reset, mostly to not write myself into a corner]
-Heavily inspired from Yakuza fanchise

The planned story right now is just a rough sketch with alot of holes to fill up so feel free to pitch me any ideas and if it fits into the story/side stories i'll add them!

-Writers (Polish up the story and dialogues)
-Spriter (Overworld/battlers/tileset sprites)
-Mapper (Recreating Hoenn/Alola locations)
-Beta Testers (The more the merrier)

Dropping a comment to keep tabs on this project. This idea you’ve laid out sounds like something different, and speaking as a player of fan games, we need something different!


I would love to help out with beta testing, possibly even writing, depending on what you’re looking for. In your post you mention polishing the story and dialogue. So, like, editing? Because I’d be awesome with something like that. I have never written for a project, I simply enjoy the process of writing.


Really looking forward to seeing this project roll out. I love the idea on paper/screen, and think it would be a unique experience to play through with the ideas and mechanics you’ve described. And the actual story/plot of the game sounds fresh, not just a re-skin of an existing plot line, and that’s almost always super fun. Best of luck putting a team together!
