About Pokémon Iris & Cistus
Pokémon IC is inspired by Scandinavian countries and will influence the mappings and cultures of the region. The fan-game is using 275 original fakemon, and won't include any existing Pokémon. This fan-game is also based in the Utozia Region, a region that will be brand new and include its very own locations, stories, quests, and characters. IC is styled in the Gen4 artstyle, meaning both Pokémon and Trainers sprites are 80x80 pixels. There will be the FollowMe feature (just like HGSS) and overworld sprites will be styled like DPP/HGSS. Back sprites will also be reminiscent of the Gen4 style too. As stated above, this is a brand-new region. Meaning new Pokémon, locations, trainers, abilities, moves, items, gimmicks, etc. This game is region-locked, meaning the 275 Fakemon I have designed will be the ONLY Pokémon included; no other EXISTING Pokémon (Eg. Pikachu) will be present. However, existing things like abilities, moves, and items WILL be present, including everything from the later generations (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9).
This project is using the Pokémon SDK Kit. Programs like Tiled and RPG Maker XP are also used too.

Let's get the most important thing out of the way, the new Pokémon. This region includes 275 original Fakemon designed and sprited by myself. Every Pokémon has had their Front Sprites and Party Sprites fully finished. Back Sprites and Overworld Sprites are currently in-development. Plenty of popular series (such as Harry Potter, Fallout, Skyrim, Borderlands, etc.) have been referenced in the dex. But most are simply creations I wanted to make. I made it a focus to include almost exclusively dual-typed Pokémon and ensure that every type consisted of at least 20 Pokémon each (we all know the pain of the Fire-Types in Gen4 haha).
To the right, you can see the full Utozia Pokédex. A giant Google Sheets document includes all of their relevant information. Types, abilities, movepools, encounter rates, stats, methods of evolution, heights and weights; if you can think of it, it has been covered.
Custom moves and abilities:
Speaking of moves and abilities, there are currently 112 new moves and 84 new abilities, that are (currently) being balanced to fit the meta without completely disrupting the balance of everything. These moves would of course need their own programming and animations, but that will be discussed further down.
The Radiant-Type and Radiant Forms:
Radiant Forms are the new gimmick exclusive to the Utozia Region. Approximately halfway through the game; you will receive a Radiant Shard. Bring this to the Professor and she will restore it and construct a new Key Item named the Lumitrix, an accessory glimmering with Radiant power. This device will enable the use of "Ascending" in-battle. You would also need an exclusive item for the Pokemon itself to Ascend too (like Mega Stones). Ascending is the act of turning your Pokemon into its Radiant Form. Much like Mega Evolution, the Pokemon will change form and potentially change its ability. However, this new form will also gain the new typing, the Radiant-Type. Radiant will always replace the Pokemon's secondary type and is exclusive to Radiant Forms. Only one Pokémon can "Ascend" on your team every battle.
Here is the Radiant-Type's interactions with other types:
Offensive
Super-Effective = Steel, Fairy, Poison, Dragon, Ghost and Fire.
Not very effective = Grass, Bug, Radiant.
Defensive
Weak to = Grass, Bug.
Resist = Water, Normal, Ground, Ghost, Psychic, Fairy, Radiant.

The Story
The story follows our main protagonists, Fredrik and Viola (the two playable characters); who are brother and sister. They can finally pick up their very own starter Pokemon and start their journey to become a Pokemon master. They will explore the vibrant and beautiful landscapes of the Utozia Region; discovering unique locations, Pokemon, and people.
Your main goal is exactly what you would expect it to be, collect all the Gym Badges and challenge the League. However, this region has a lot more to offer than just that. With a Quest Log system and two whole halves of a massive region to explore; you can count on that you'll never be bored. Countless planned quests, invigorating storyline, repeatable trainer battles, secret locations and puzzles, and 16 badges to collect in total. Each Gym drastically varies in teams with interesting puzzles and unique battle dynamics. But of course, with every trainer's journey, there's always the evil team.
Team Shroud is the core antagonist group that wishes to awaken the legendary Pokémon, Caelumaru, to control its power and harness its natural Radiant energy. They wish to weaponize the legendary and use it as their tool of world domination. You will naturally encounter this group on your journey, and your path will naturally intertwine.
With a vibrant cast of important and three-dimensional characters, there will never be a dull moment as the fate of Utozia hangs on your shoulders.

New Features

- Victor's Court (Battle Tower equivalent).
- Ice-Type revamp and buff.

Just for full transparency, there will be NO paid roles. If you are expecting to be paid, then this is NOT the project for you.
None of us are earning money from our efforts, and all current team members are working for free and in their own free time.
You will be part of a kind, friendly, and dedicated team to make the best Fangame possible. Hopefully, that's enough.
Finally, the roles we're recruiting for.
As you can see above, there's still a lot of room on our team for newcomers and a lot of roles that need to be filled. Here's the list of available roles:
--Map Makers--
Preferably experienced in either Tiled or RPG Maker XP, but not mandatory. As a Map Maker, you would be the lead artist in designing cities, towns, routes, and other various locations. You would use the provided tilesets (or making your own custom tilesets as part of the project would be fantastic!) to capture the essence and theme of the region.
--Scripters/Coders (Programmer)--
As a Programmer, you'd be in charge of adding custom scripts for new interactions, moves, abilities, and mechanics; and ensuring everything works as it should. Also editing existing code to fit new requirements.
--Sprite Artist (Tilesets)--
For this role, you would be a Sprite Artist with a particular talent or interest in making custom tilesets. Whether it be buildings, trees, types of furniture, statues, temples, etc. There will be plenty of opportunities to show off your work within the game. Due to the region being inspired by many Scandanavian cultures as well as Norse Mythology, the typical tilesets found elsewhere won't cover everything the game will need.
--UI Designers--
We're looking to make a brand-new and interactive UI for both Battles and Overworld. As a UI designer, you'd be in charge of all the menus and graphics the player would see. Developing an attractive, intuitive, and unique UI would be key.
--Pokemon Move and Ability Animators--
Due to the large amount of new moves and abilities, we will need an animator who can create custom animations for the new assets. As well as editing or replacing old battle and move animations as well.
--Event Makers--
We already have a talented Event Maker, but having more is nothing but an asset. PSDK and RPG Maker XP are our kits of choice, so understanding the inner workings of these programs would be greatly beneficial.
I will have inevitably missed some roles that would be required for the project that haven't been listed. If I have (and you think you're someone the team needs) get in contact with me anyway. We can discuss the details further then. I'll also add the roles here too.
