Pokémon Dancing Band!

We all know how The Pokémon Company and Creature Inc develop small spin-offs that can be played for a limited time. This is the case of おどる?ポケモンおんがくたい or Dancing? Pokémon Band, a rhythm game based on the short film "Pikachu and the Pokémon Band", which was available for iOS and Android between June 30, 2015 to October 29, 2015. The objective was similar to Guitar Hero where the user must tap on the area where the note falls to set the rhythm while the ending of the Pokémon anime plays. Well, it is because of this "lost" game (as it can't be played anymore even with the IPA or APK) that to spice up my free time I recreated it in Unity Engine for mobile devices (Android and iOS) and PC (Windows, Mac and Linux) with the new name "Pokémon Dancing Band!" or PDB.

Core Gameplay:
Similar to the original game, PDB is a rhythm game in which the player must tap (touch the screen on the corresponding button) to the rhythm of the music. If done correctly, the Pokémon will dance and the player will get a better score at the end of the song. If the player is running PDB on PC, he/she must use Q,W,E keys to select left, middle and right tracks respectively. The reason is basic: You can't multi-click with one mouse and you would lose double notes.

Gameplay Modes:
1) Story Mode (Plot)
We put ourselves in the shoes of a Pokémon that has just woken up in a digital space known as the "DEAD-MON BOX". Hoopy the Hoopa tells us that a trainer caught us during a Randomlocke playthrough. All the Pokémon in that box are those that have been fainted and therefore considered "dead". However, our protagonist doesn't even remember even battling once. Is it a mistake? Will he be able to escape from the box? In the meantime, let's better have some fun!

There's nothing like dancing and enjoying good music with friends!

2) Free Mode: At your own pace!
Enjoy all the songs and characters to get the highest score.

Character Roster:

PDB currently has a varied roster of characters and all with their unique animations:

  • Braixen
  • Chespin
  • Frogadier
  • Hawlucha
  • Hoopa
  • Inkay
  • Meowth
  • Mewtwo
  • Pancham
  • Pikachu
  • Wobbuffet
