First of all, hello my name is Simone, 19 yo and pokefag since before the 2000. I've always wanted to write a story, and throughout the years many plots and ideas came to me and I've thought of many stories. I'm writing one atm, and it's gonna be gorgeous. While I cannot say I'm good at programming, I know that my writing skills are not as bad as a girl who writes questionable fanfictions on Tumblr, so look forward to a great tale (which is currently being written hastily and messily on a notebook and also constantly updated). The fact is, in order to make that story a pokemon videogame someone good at programming is required, because some situations require mechanics that are not in an official pokemon game. So here I am recruiting -.- I do have a very good drawer for concepts and stuff, but she's no good with computer graphics (although she's indeed able to produce artworks and stuff) and thus I'd need someone who can do that. Lastly, someone should be making bgm and se stuff. This will currently be the dream team, here's all the information about this project:

Looking to recruit: a programmer (no particular language required, but must be good at something), a graphic designer, someone who can do some good music

Project Title: too soon, I don't feel like giving it a title yet

Team Name/Team Members: ^ same ^, but I do like the name "New Game"

Progress/Screenshots: no progress has been made for anything not story-related

Method of Contact: I believe Discord should be used as a way for contacting each other, my nick is ZeroNyxMaxwell#6441

Additional Information: I'll write some kind of synopsis here, and also give some things I'd like to be implemented in the game. Let's start by writing about plot-related features:
- 2 main characters: Raphael and Gabriel. Since they'll end up on a journey together and they're both pokemon trainers, they'll have 2 different teams. The player should be able to select whenever he wants which one control, and making the other one enter a "mode" (also selected by the player when switching protagonist): Wait Mode, where the other person stays still in one place (it'd be good if, for example, when making a character enter Wait Mode while in a city, it started going to places alone and being found there after, like at a pokemon center or a café), and Follow Mode, making it, guess what, follow the character controlled. I'd also like events and dialogues to slightly change when doing some particular actions alone, and I've also prepared VEEEERY SLIGHTLY different endings based on how much a team gets trained more than the other. This 2 protagonists feature is crucial for the plot, and will also change the gameplay drastically, like deciding with which team you want to battle another trainer who doesn't want a double battle (or cannot do it at all).
- Bosses: real, actual old school RPG boss battles. Totally different than what a totem pokemon could give you in Sun/Moon. To make them that way, other pokemon needs to be more specialized at what they're doing, by balancing stats, moves and abilities. I'd also love to remove the PP system and implement a MANA/STAMINA one instead, and also make pokemon use moves in different ways (ex, Fire Spin could be used in a defensive manner, blocking certain enemy moves like Leech Seed for 5 turns, on an ally or on themselves without making it damage any pokemon). About Fakemon: I can't see them in the story, apart from a few I have in mind. There should be some, but most of the pokemon you'll see will be canon.
- Branching plot: exactly as the title says, but changing the story and some dialogues slightly, I don't want the main story to be modified too much.
- Gyms: "Zero, I'm pretty sure gyms are already in, like, EVERY SINGLE POKEMON GAME OUT THERE (k not in Sun/Moon but that's an exception), and if you want the players to become gym leaders, well that's not very original since there's a PLETHORA OF FAN GAMES THAT LETS YOU DO THAT ALREADY" Yeah I'm well aware, and I'm not interested anyway. What I want to do, is making gyms places where you can actually train your pokemon, by raising their stats and making them learn moves, based on which gym you're training in. Gym leaders will also be there, but they won't be of any interest to the player until he's ready to battle them, and the protagonists haven been aknowledged as strong trainers worthy of battling them. The pokemon league will also be there, and will mark the end of the journey, and the story.

Well I guess I can stop here for now, I'll now write some kind of "trailer" for what the plot is going to be:

June 1, 2050
11:50 PM, S.S. Anne, Western Ocean.
"Dad, get off me. Dad you're annoying. DAD!"
"How could I? My little boy is going to grow up a lot now that we're going to live in a big city, so I have the right to hug you as much as you want now!"
"Dad I'm almost 19, and we're from a city already! Also you- puaaah! Is that alcohol the thing I'm smelling? Get off me already!"
"Hueeheheh... c'mon Raphy, give me a hug! Give me love plea- ouch!"
"Can't hug you, but here's a kiss from my knee!"
After hitting his smelly father with his knee, Raphael broke free from his malevolent grasp and headed to the cabin's front door, turned around 180 degrees and said with a calm tone: "I'm locking you inside, when we land tomorrow I'll call the police and report you, until then" said with a naughty smug and smiling eyes "good night and sweet dreams", and closed the door using the key. He didn't hear him shouting or anything, so he decided to go outside and breath some fresh air until his father fell asleep. While walking through the corridor, he noticed how classy that ship was. It really was a well-known luxury after all, the cabin was majestic and they ate pretty complicated dishes too. Raphael suddenly realized his father's behaviour, and his beardless face grew redder and redder, until he ran out the exit flustered.
"That man is an embarassment, he has no excuse!" He thought, while looking at the almost totally dark water, holding on to the railing "Also, what's with this sudden transfer! It's called INTERNATIONAL police right? There should be enough policemen already in an entire region."
He calmed down, and after some minutes of silence in his head, his inner voice started talking again:
"He really needs to behave properly when we start living there. Back in Saffron City uncle watched on him at job, and grandma managed to keep him occupied at home, so he couldn't do anything stupid when not working..." Raphael shivered "Well, I will not let him stop me from attaining my dream with his conduct.", Raphael sighed, but then put on a wide smile and adamantly said: "I'm going to become a pokemon master, the best of all. Nobody will be able to surclass me, I'll be perfection itself"
He waited outside some more, then went back to the cabin, finding his father's body on the ground, snoring and laughing, and still smelling. Actually, he couldn't handle it, as it was even stronger than before
"..."
Raphael stayed till morning at the café, with chocolate milk and internet keeping him company through the night.
.
.
.
.
.
Same day, same hour,
Neon City, Peryc region
"Mother, can you bring me the medicine? I left it in the living room"
"Sure Gabriel, I'll be right back"
"Thank you, and sorry"
"You've done your best Gabriel, you only need to rest now. But try to recover before the graduation ceremony, okay?"
"I will, you don't have to worry mother, look I'm already feeling waaay better! I'll go take the medicine by myself, you can just..." Gabriel closed her eyes firmly, as she was hit by a strong headache.
"...yes?"
"...actually never mind, please bring it to me, it should be in the living room"
"You already told me that, Gabriel"
"..."
"I'll be right back"
And so, Gabriel's mother went on a fantastical journey, searching for the medicine for this mega-disorganized girl. Her room was a mess, plushies and games were everywhere except for where they should have been, and her desk was covered by books and various notes. She didn't care about it, but when teachers from her school came to visit her it was always her mother who cleaned and tidied up everything. She obviously wanted Gabriel to learn how to clean her room, and she tried to complain many times, but ended up being ignored. It's not like Gabriel didn't want to, but she just wasn't interested in it, and passed her days studying and playing at home. She frequented elementary and middle school, but soon find out teachers were slow and boring, started studying on her own from books she bought from the internet, and thus she managed to skip a year. Finally here we are, her mother came back: "here's the medicine. Anyway, these 4 years of you almost never going out sure made your mind stronger, but also your body is weak..."
Gabriel started pouting a little, then her mother continued: "...at least you're beautiful and cute, you've grown up well on that side". She then took the pill and went back under the sheets, her cheeks kind of red, as her mother concluded: "sleep tight and rest well, Gabriel". She then put off the light, and closed the door.
"...weak body, uh?" Gabriel started talking to herself
"My body is weak, ergo that means that I'll surely have a hard time if I want to do that...", she sighed
"Even so, I'm determined to coronate my dreams, it'll just be a little harder. If I intend on going on That kind of journey, I'm starting to believe that making it alone would be unconventional... I definetely need someone... a partner..." getting sleepier and sleepier each word, Gabriel finally said what her heart whispered to her since she was a child: "I'm going to become a pokemon master, the best of all. Nobody will be able to surclass me, I'll be perfection itself"

So, this is the very beginning of the story, a little synthesized, just to give the most important informations. They'll end up meeting each other only after the game begins though, and I can't do this all alone, ergo I'll need people.
I humbly ask of you, please help me make a great game!
