Welcome to Insulae Region!
  • A vibrant fan game taking place in the Insulae Region!

Story
  • The first-ever Pokemon League in the Insulae Region has been created! Insulae has been a developing region for a long time, but finally has the capacity needed to be able to create the Insulae League! The player (you) are determined to defeat this new Pokemon League that has been created to become the very first champion of the Insulae League. However, the Insulae League works a bit differently than most Pokemon Leagues. In the Insulae League, four Island Captains have been given one major island of the Insulae Region to be an Island Captain of. You must go to each island, travel to the challenge, solves puzzles, defeat trainers, and defeat the Island Captain! It won't be easy for the player to navigate through the region as an antagonist group against the creation of the Insulae League has taken action to prevent it from being formed! Who is this group? Why do they protest the Insulae League? What is the true reason for the Insulae League? All these questions will be answered throughout the player's journey!
Where is Development Now?
  • At the point of writing this, development is in extremely early phases. I have created an entire google document with all my ideas and have begun creating a tile map to use (using public tilesets)!
  • Once I finish the outside tilesets, I will begin working with Pokemon Essentials (the engine of the game) to start mapping and adding in plugins.
  • Around three months ago, I created my own little fan-game project with two towns, multiple events, and a long route to learning the basics of Pokemon Essentials. I know a lot now and with the tools provided can make a full game.
  • Currently, I am developing everything EXCEPT for my brother who has made some concept sprites for some Insulae Forms!

  • Everyone has busy lives so this will be a very casual job. If you are someone who wants to help make some regional forms, that is perfectly fine! If you wanna just make a singular song, I am ok with that too! This is very much a passion project, so I want those who work on the project to feel proud of what they have created!

  • I have already contacted someone for music and have a strong background in graphic design so I got those areas covered! I also have done a lot of tile mapping before so I will be working on that too!

So then... what now?
  • Currently, I plan for a demo in 2023 of the first island in order to show the state of the game to the community and to gain some more potential recruits!
  • After I complete the first version of the tileset, I plan for the team to work on the actual map and concepts of each area in the game. Once that is done, we will be full steam ahead in Pokemon Essentials!
  • Let me be clear, the Pokemon Shoal team will never ask for donations or make you pay for the game. No team member, other than me, will pay for any commissions that relate to the game. This is supposed to be a passion project and will be available to download for free!
