Released Pokemon Pink, an RPG

This project has a release available. The full version is still a work in progress.

Hello there!
Over the past few months, me and a few friends started working on a new Pokemon game on RPG Maker XP using Pokemon essentials. With the current progress going a bit past the first gym, I thought that it was time to put the word out there. So, I formally introduce to you, what we've put hundreds of hours into already, Pokemon Pink.

[tabs][Tab=The Story][/tab][tab=The Story]
Welcome to the Miggalon Region, a region that is undergoing a war with the neighboring region. As a kid, you don't really care about all that stuff, and since everyone else was doing it, you thought that it was time to go on a Pokemon adventure!

Despite being in the middle of the war, the Miggalon region itself is quite peaceful: most of that fighting is taking place in that other region. As such, you don't concern yourself with taking down soldiers or taking down a corrupt government. Your goal is to beat the Pokemon League.

However, a strange phenomenon is happening! Is... that a Grubbin on Route 1? That's weird. Grubbin aren't native to the Miggalon Region. Wait a minute. Did you see that strange pokemon? Was that a Zubat? Why is it black? Are those Alola Pokemon in the wild? What is going on? Sightings like these have been made all over the Miggalon Region, and the region's professor, Professor Miggy, needs help investigating the cause.

That sounds easy, all you gotta do is catch a few Pokemon right? Well, a strange team, if we want to call it that, has appeared, and their fashion sense is a little eccentric. With them in the way of your journey and investigation, all you can do is take them down and hope they aren't the good guys in the end. [/tab]

[tabFeatures]
Basic Features
-New Regional Variants
-New Mega Evolutions
-Full Custom Region (Not actually full yet)
-Gyms and League Structure
-Side Quests

Implemented Features
-Crafting System

Since the items in the Pokemart are limited, you are going to need someway of getting that pokeball to catch that stinking Ralts, or that armor you want to give to your Charizard. The best way to do that is to make it yourself. You save so much money that way, and you could probably sell these items for so much more since there's a shortage and large demand!
-Trainer Levels
As you play through the game, you gain experience, and thus, become a better trainer. This means that the higher your level, the higher your catch rate, more experience your Pokemon gain, higher chance of finding that elusive shiny you wanted, and more!
-Pokemon Stat Points
Every time your Pokemon level up, it gains an extra stat point that you can put any where you want. Seems pretty unbalanced, right? Not when you realize that there are trainers better than you that have more stat points than you. The whole game will involve trying to find a way the best the trainers you beat, and this system gives you a chance to find a way.
-A Huge EV Limit
What's the new limit, you ask? Let's just say 16384 for all 6 stats. Hm, that might be overkill. But anyways, This gives you an incentive to train your Pokemon, because as you defeat more Pokemon, your Pokemon will get better.
-A Scaled Game
So you usually over level your Pokemon and beat the game through level gaps? This game isn't as forgiving. Here, all wild Pokemon scale to the lowest level Pokemon on your team, and trainers level to your highest level in your team. This gives the player an incentive to keep a balanced party level while adding some difficulty to the game.
-Limited Stock in the Mart
The Miggalon Region is at war. Which means that most of the resources are being used as such. Complementing the crafting system, this allows players to find a reason to buy an apricorn, berry, or Pokemon farm to harvest resources.
-Pokemon Drop System
Every Pokemon will get a unique drop going up to 4 levels, which will be used for crafting. Gives the player a reason to go farm some Chanseys. (System done, need items)

Planned Features

-Synchro and Nova Bursts?
New types of evolution found within the game. The rest is currently a secret.
-Farms?
For getting that oran berry to make that potion you need for the next gym.
-Pokemon Perks
One point is gained every time your Pokemon knocks out an opponent. Yeah, you can't just slap on an EXP Share and wait till it levels up high enough. You're gonna have to send it out and do the finishing move at least. Perk trees are going to be unique for every Pokemon line, and includes things such as STAB bonuses or stat boosts.
-Trainer Perks
You gain a point every time you level up. What you put that point in, whether it be higher shiny encounter rates or attack bonuses, is up to you.
-Factions and Guilds
A choice based game?
-Craftable Equipment, 2nd Equip Slot
Like an RPG game, you can craft and equip equipment to gain bonuses.
-Golden Pokemon and Hyper Shinies?
New shiny like forms with different bonuses!
-8 Moves to Swap Out of Out of Battle
Your Pokemon can know up to 8 moves, but only take 4 into battle with them. This gives Pokemon a diverse move set and will allow changing in between gauntlet battles.
-Move Leveling System
This will be the only game where scratch has the potential, at a high level, to one hit KO a level 100 Golem. Cough.
-MMO Experience?
Iffy about this one. Using RMX-OS, I can try to program a few features in. Not promising too much though, so don't get your hopes up.

Everything looks pretty interesting so far, especially those features. The presence of both stat allocation and increased EVs can really act as an interesting way of strengthening both the player's Pokemon as well as the opponents'.

Also, that Crobat variant looks great.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, our goal is to keep the Pokemon battle system and experience while finding ways to incorporate RPG elements into it.
That Crobat is also one of my favorites. :grinning:

Expect a demo release within the next 3 weeks. It's going to show off the first part of the game and some of the features, but it's playable and enjoyable.

In hard mode, any encounters cause an instant error message.

The level scaling randomises the trainer levels everytime I refresh the game. Litleo's sprite is pixelated in a bad way. Pidove is floating.

Fixed most of it. The levels thing requires a bit more work, and I found some replacements for gen 6 sprites.
