Showdown to Essentials Converter is a open-source software that is made by me to help my friend convert the format Pokemon Showdown uses into the format Pokemon Essentials uses. This program tries its best to take the format from showdown and convert it into a format that Pokemon Essentials can use, along side some quality of life improvements.

Version 2.0.0.0 Known Issues:
  • IVs and EVs mixed up
  • IVs and EVs will not accept if number is not defined (In Pokemon Essentials)
  • Doesn't generate a number for form if no number is defined
  • Held item generates even if no held item is defined.

So... About version 2.0.0.0 of this tool...
The code I use to convert the showdown format to is based on the old version of the program (version 1.3.0.0). I am coming to find that the code is very hard to actually work with anymore. So I am going to have to re-write the whole thing. It may take some time to get the new code working. I hope you understand, and can wait for the next version.

A bonus fact, though, I found out that the Pokemon Essentials 17 format works Pokemon Essentials 18, so if you can't wait, you can use that version of the generator, and use the code that one gives you.

Version 2.6.0.0 - UI Fixes & changes

Launcher​

  • Overhauled the Launcher UI.
    • To select the version of StE you want to use, select the version from the list on the left, then click the launch button.

Installer​

  • The installer will now prompt you what versions you would like to install.

Showdown to Essentials 17 Converter​

  • Fixed some UI elements overlapping.

Version 2.6.3.0 - Improved Item Handler

Changes include:
  • Universal
    • Switched back to the old splash screen.
  • Showdown to Essentials 18/19 Converter
    • Rewrote item handler completely
    • Removed Timer Based code
    • Removed the ability to select your trainers.txt file, but you can still save to it.
    • Organized some code
    • Added the ability to swap between PokéBall IDs and PokéBall Internal IDs
    • Changed the way how some checkboxes work.
    • Main work on Wizard has started
