Greetings, today I’ve come to present my project idea using RPG Maker XP, which came out after years of experience in various projects in the wonderful world of Nintendo Fan Games, and I can assure you that you will like my concept.
Engine: Pokémon SDK.
Fangame based on the concept of the evolution and adaptation of Pokémon and people, as well showing that 2 individuals, with the same conditions, can achieve completely different things.
In addition, various sensitive political issues such as racism, lack of opportunities and economic inequality will be addressed, but in a natural, respectful and functional way, without making it feel "forced" into the game.
Region.
You will find yourself in a large region called Nunk ("Today" in Latin), that is divided in 2 sub-regions.
- Futurae ("Future" in Latin): Lair of technologically advanced cities, a true scientific marvel.
- Tandem ("Past "in Latin): A more traditionalist land with respects to past and history.
In Futurae you will find typical aspects of any other normal Pokémon regions along with various facilities thanks to the incredible technological advance that it has.
In Tandem, however, it is the opposite. There will be no Pokémon Centers and few Pokémarts. You will have to use local shops and different new ways of healing, relying on your ability to think outside the box to proceed.
Futurae is characterized by its conglomerate of cities with very little distance. Its most important city, Central City, contains almost all the important locations that you could find in an ordinary region; Shops, Laboratories, Hospital Centers, even its Regional League, all accommodated for the delight of foreigners looking to make a name for themselves in the big city life. It could be said that Futurae has everything to be a region of its own.
On the other hand, Tandem is characterized by its small towns, and by its diverse flora and fauna found in its various caves, mountains and plateaus. Tandem is the right place if you want to live away from the busy life of Futurae or explore inhospitable lands. Its most "important" town is "Mendel Town" where you can find the Nunk Pokémon Study Center (NPSC for short), a place where young children learn to be Official Pokémon Trainers by the laws, in addition to graduating Experienced Trainers into Gym Leaders, NPSC Teachers or Pokémon Professors.
Both sub-regions, despite being two parts of one single region, despise each other, due to the great social, cultural and economic difference they have. Multiple times they have been on the brink of a war, but thankfully found a peaceful way to finally make amends without any warlike conflict.
Still, there is a lot of xenophobia from both sub-regions towards their counterparts, however, there are still good people that will always be willing to lend a hand.
History.
You are a simple 11-year-old boy from the Mendel Town, who has just graduated with honors from the Nunk Pokemon Study Center, and for such an achievement, Professor Larch will mail him his first Pokémon, his Pokédex, a pair of Poké Balls and a map, a simple kit to start your adventure.
Meanwhile, a criminal organization called Team Salvos will keep the tension between both sub-regions to near boiling points.
Will these evil doers awaken the forgotten conflict between the sub region and create an all out war?
Your objective is simple like of any young Pokemon Trainer: To beat the 8 Gym leaders scattered across Tandem and Futurae, beat the Elite 4 and be the Regional Champion.
But can you do that while your whole region is on the edge of a political civil war?

Characters.
Professor Larch: Resides in Central City, a Pokémon Professor in his middle age who is in charge of sending his initial Pokémon to all graduating Nunk trainers. Larch's field of study is how Pokemon adapt to a foreign territory when they don't change to a new regional form.
Rival Endrigo: A young man of your same age, originating from Central City. He hails from a family of rich and famous trainers. Endrigo has delusions of grandeur while seeing you, the Protagonist, as a simple punching bag for easy EXP. Since starting his journey, around the same time as you do, he believes that you will give up shortly, like many trainers of your age. Use the initial stronger to yours.
Rival Daniel: A retired ex-champion, who resides in Lamarck Village with his daughter Dani and his wife. Due to a recent depression that he obtained when seeing the monotony of his life when retiring from the public eye, his family urges him to make a new trip to obtain the 8 gym badges and try to be Champion again, despite his age, and awaken his old soul's flame. He will look at you as a traveling companion and help you in various situations. His initial is a Bagon.
Team Salvos: Your usual criminal evil team. Their philosophy is the "survival of the fittest", using only the best and strongest teams, even simple Grunts, you will find a challenge with them.
They want to rule over the people who are more inexperienced and weaker with battles, converting people to the mindset that love and care are irrelevant, that only pure cold calculated strategy can win. Basically, their "master" plan is to succumb the region into a civil war using manipulation, deception and intrigue, and when the entire region is finally drowning into chaos, they will seize power of the remaining population to a new Nunk.
Characteristics.
* A Pokédex of 455 Pokémon. The ones who make the cut into the game were chosen between the most outstanding and most underrated, from the 1st to the 8th gen, along with around 90-100 new Fakemon, from regional forms to completely new Pokémon.
* All the Pokémon you see in this fangame are useful competitively, either one way or the other.
* Re-balancing of the healing system; Not only will you spam potions to heal your Pokémon, there will be different ways to heal you with benefits and consequences, due to the absence of Pokémon Centers and Pokemon Stores in most of the game, examples of this would be:
- Pokemon food crafting system for various uses (Inspired by SwSh's wasted CurryDex); Due to the absence of Tandem Potions, you will need to learn how to use the community kitchens you find to be able to use various objects you find on your way to cook dishes with various functions;
- From objects that you already know such as common berries or itens like Miracle Seed to new objects such as Miltank's Steak, Slowpokola, Torrential Seaweed and Magikarp's Filet, in order to create exquisite dishes that can help your Pokémon in various Situations: From Magikarp's Sushi that recovers 70 HP and 5 PP of a move of your choice, a Margarita that recovers 70% of your Pokémon's life but causes Confusion in combat, or a Miltank Roasted Steak that simply heals 130 .
- Items primarily used as ingredients may also be used for other functions if equipped on a Pokémon (Torrential Algae increases Plant and Water-type moves x1.2, or a Magikarp Fillet can cause a +1 boost in Attack and Attack Special if the Pokémon is Burned.)
* Re-balancing the Player's economy; many functions now need money to function, as well as the Chansey that heals your Pokémon in the Tandem community centers, such as buying items for your dishes, not to mention that the few PokéMarts you find, have their items sold in exaggerated prices, so you really have to think twice about buying X or Y thing or if you really need it. But don't worry so much, there are also many ways to make money in this unique region, from “Biologists” in various parts of Tandem that will reward you for giving them a certain species of Pokémon, to cook a certain dish for some NPCs ready to taste your food and pay you for it, up to various Quests that your only reward is a modest amount of money so that your invested minutes feel that they have been worthwhile.
* Re-balancing the backpack: Each trainer starts in a modest way, and you are no exception, so now when you start you can only carry 3 Pokémon at a time, and a slight amount of objects with you (Scrambled as in Gen 1) due to the poor quality of your backpack you have. So now you must also worry about saving to buy a better backpack, which are sold in some PokéMarts that you find on your way. Improve the size of your Pokémon team or improve the size of your backpack, what will you give priority to?
* A Borderlands inspired Quest system, you will see what Quests you have found and accepted, and the number of Quests you have not found on the map. There are many and very diverse, some important to the story, but finally all optional because your true main objective is to become the Regional Champion.
* Your actions matter. Maybe during the first fifth of the game everything seems linear, but when you enter Futurae, the actions you make with the other characters (either accept a Quest from one of your travel companions, or simply help a helpless member of TEAM Salvos.). From Endrigo joining Team Salvos, to Daniel losing interest in his trip, your decisions will matter.
