Relic Game Jam #4

Welcome to the fourth annual Relic Castle Game Jam!

For the uninformed: a game jam is an event where developers will get together and make a game. It sounds simple at first glance, but making a good game is much more difficult and time consuming than you might think. Participating in one is a great way to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and polish your overall experience as a game developer.

Another year, another game jam! Our fourth game jam might not be too different from previous years, but we're nonetheless incredibly excited to see those familiar faces and newcomers alike! Year after year, everyone impresses us with how creative and unique their entries are -- and we don't think this year will be any different.

The Pokémon fan game community is an amazing place, and that's all thanks to each and every one of you. Take pride in that, and your hard work! Let's make this game jam a special one!

And an extra special thanks to @Cilerba for the game jam logo this year!

Won't be in this year due to other things™ but I hope everyone who does enter this year has a blast! I look forward to seeing what people make of the "discovery" theme!

Hi Deo, I'm new t the community. Can you post / share an archive thread from the previous game jams? I'd love to see the participation threads from previous years.

I'm not Deo but heck yeah, history lesson! The Relic Castle game jam has been at the same time every year since the first one.

Here's the very first one, where all the games were submitted in the thread itself instead of having their own threads...which I think helped several of them become lost in time. Games from this jam include:

Here's game Jam #2, which was also on the old version of Relic Castle. Games from this jam include:
A couple of those are links to the old site, so the downloads for the games might not be supported anymore...

Here's game jam #3, which was the first one to have an optional theme. Games from this jam include:

I was really worried I wouldn't have a worthwhile idea in time, but I somehow landed on birds so I guess I'm making a GALMI fan game now.

You can walk up to any one of them and take it as your starter Pokemon, or there's 3 more hidden species to discover...they're also probably birds.
Can we get some hype in the chat for shiny Spearow after 5 random encounters
