For the former, no there is not. For the latter, can you describe the state of the battle, which move they tried to use and whether you used speed-up? How frequently does this happen?

Ah, I see. Interacting with the monolith at the north end of the last room and pulling out the stone will play a cutscene that ends with you getting an Intriguing Stone. Take that to the Jewelry Store. If you cannot trigger that cutscene, there might be something wrong with your game.

That's weird. Did you trigger the cutscene in Frosty Cavern by interacting with the monolith?

Have you been deep in Frosty Cavern yet? If not, go there, if you have, go to the Jewelry Store (south east of town) for a cutscene to play that will tell you where to go next.

There is no NPC that gives you extra high prices for mushrooms, you can sell them to any regular vendors at your own leisure.
