How to map a Route: A starter route 1.0.1

How to map a Route

Ever wanted to know how to make a route?
You picked the right tutorial!

To begin with, this isn't going to be teaching you about every bit of information about routes. No, this is a step by step guide showing the process of mapping your route. This going to be part 1 of 'How to map a Route', this includes mapping a basic route. Lets begin!

Step 1
To start off by making a new map in a fresh version of essentials. The dimensions of the map should preferably be about 40 x 40. Note that when naming the route, don't take too long - give it a simple name.

Step 2
We all know this step, just smudge the grass around.

Wow what a patch of grass! I'm already getting FRLG vibes!

Step 3
Lets add some trees and dirt patches to the route! Try your best to make the trees as inorganic/random as you can - for example, don't keep them all in straight lines. And for the dirt, make it lead the player somewhere.
Here we go.

Clap, clap, clap

Step 4
What a route! It's a shame that it looks likes somethings missing. Wait, what's missing?
Detail, detail is missing. It can as simple as adding flowers, or gates, change the trees, add a house - one things for sure, we definitely need to add tall grass, it's essential to all routes - for a more basic and early route, avoid keeping to much of it.

See, now it's much better.

Step 5
Polish, Polish, Polish
Polish the map as much as possible.

And that's it! You're done!

Love the tutorial. Simple, but gave me a more solid foundation of what to aim for. I liked what you said "Lead the player somewhere."
