Basic HGSS-inspired Move/Status Effect Animations

Animations Basic HGSS-inspired Move/Status Effect Animations v1.1

This resource consists, or mainly consists, of animations to be added to Essentials.
If you are using any animations within this resource, you must credit me, NocTurn!

Super simple resource, the download for this resource contains about 45 move animations made for my own game, Pokemon Champions. The files contain:
  • The .anm files, easily insertable into the game itself
  • The SE that go along with these animations
  • The graphics/animation sheets I used for these animations. (Please note, some of these are named incorrectly, but renaming them would require changing the .anm files as well since they root into here)
To import these into your game, follow these steps:

1. Insert the SE files into the Audio/SE/Anim folder
2. Insert the graphics into the Graphic/Animations folder
3. Insert all the .anm files for the moves you want into your root folder.
4. Load up your game, and manually import all the animations to either new slots or existing slots if you'd like them to override existing move animations, i.e. Poison Sting.
5. Compile your game. The moves will not display correctly otherwise.


The move animations included in this resource are:
  • Astonish (regular + opp)
  • Baby-Doll Eyes
  • Bide (Charging + Hit)
  • Comet Punch
  • Confuse Ray
  • Confusion
  • Constrict
  • Cut
  • Defense Curl
  • Disable
  • Double Slap
  • Fake Tears
  • Feather Dart (A custom created move by me, you don't have to use this one if you don't want to)
  • Fire Punch
  • Focus Energy
  • Foresight
  • Growth
  • Guillotine
  • Gust
  • Harden
  • Ice Punch
  • Ingrain (regular + opp)
  • Karate Chop
  • Leer (regular + opp)
  • Lick
  • Magnitude
  • Mean Look
  • Mega Punch
  • Pay Day (regular + opp)
  • Peck (regular + opp)
  • Poison Sting (regular + opp)
  • Pound
  • Rock Throw
  • Sonic Boom (regular + opp)
  • Splash
  • String Shot (regular + opp)
  • Swords Dance
  • Tackle
  • Thunder Punch
  • Vine Whip (regular + opp)
  • Vise Grip (note that the SFX for Wrap is used here instead of the typical SFX)
In addition, this resource also includes 4 status effects:
  • Confusion
  • Paralysis
  • Poison
  • Sleep
  • (The files also include Toxic, but it currently uses the same animation as Poison)
Now, before you go willy nilly inserting every animation under the sun, please note: not all of these animations are great. Some of them were made while I was still learning the software, and I didn't have the proper graphics for some. Please double check that the animations you are inserting are actually the animations you want in your game!
