Social Links

v21.1 Social Links 1.0

This resource pertains to version 21.1 of Pokémon Essentials.
Pokémon Essentials Version
v21.1 ✅
Also compatible with
  1. v20.1
Inspired by the Persona series, you can now turn NPCs into Social Links. This can add some more personal connections with characters in your game, and can also result in benefits for the player.

In addition to Social Links, this plugin provides a Social Media page for each Social Link. In addition to viewing your current bond level, you can view their current location, status message, and favorite Pokemon.

Version
  • This plugin works for v20.1 and v21.1
Features
  • Adding Social Links: Turn NPCs into Social Links. You can then increase your bond with them and receive benefits throughout the game.
  • Bond Effects: After some manual code additions, you can have Social Links provide boosts to EXP and Shiny rates for specific types of Pokemon.
  • Social Media Page: View a Social Link's current bond level, location, status message, and favorite Pokemon. If you are using the Instant Messages plugin, you can also jump to the Instant Messages app and view the list filtered to messages involving that Social Link.
Setup and Usage
Please use the Setup and Documentation document provided in the downloaded .zip for all the setup and how to use Social Links.
You will need to configure Social Links for your game, so use the examples in 002_Configuration.

Future
  • Support negative bonds. (Maybe you want a game where your goal is to make enemies instead of friends).
  • A couple tweaks and cleanup to the code.
