How to update a Pokémon fan game as a player

How to update a Pokémon fan game as a player N/A

This was inspired by TechSkylander1518's "How to play a Pokémon fan game" tutorial.

Step 1: Locate your game folder.

I'm assuming you've already extracted the .zip or .rar or whatever, so you should have a folder containing (almost) all the game's contents sitting somewhere on your PC.

Step 2: Delete said folder

"But won't I lose my progress?" You won't, because your save is stored in a different location. For older versions of Essentials, the save will be found in C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games. For newer versions of Essentials, the save will be found in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming. Do keep in mind that AppData is a hidden folder. You will either need to check the option in File Explorer called "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", or type %AppData% into the address bar in File Explorer.

Step 3: Download the game again.
Pretend you're installing the game for the first time, and repeat the exact same steps: downloading, extracting, etc.
