Need help changing default font in Pokemon Essential v21.1

I followed instructions on how to change it, but it isn't working :(. I have the correct file format and am typing the name correctly and have followed the directions exactly, i even used the internal name instead of the name of the file. But it all appears as the Arial font instead.
The instructions i followed said i should replace the FONT_NAME thing with the name of my font- first letter of each word uppercase no matter the font name, and it had to be ttf. It is also in the correct file folder. I dont know whats wrong. sorry if this has an obvious answer. i often have trouble with things that should be easily solved. Also i hpe this is the right part of the forum, sorry-

I did! I checked for the internal name of font i used that after the first time didn't work. This is the second time something that works for everyone else has broken for me specifically. It doesn't change to any other font D:<
