The ability doubles the chance for shiny Pokemon, so it will go up from 1/100 to 1/50 (2%) for shadow Pokemons.

You can soft reset by pressing F12, but that wont make your hunting much easier. So basically you have to continue like you did. The shiny rate for starters is 1/20, for shadow pokemon encounters 1/100.

Hey, no, they are counting basically as the same (just with the seperation of hard and easy mode). Means if you are aiming for platinum, you only need one of them. Nope, only boosted ones.

they are only obtainable via the mining mini game in Devils Wreath. You have to unlock this first though.
