Fixed it, looks like restarting my laptop worked.

tried that before because i thought the keys were stuck, but no it still persisted. btw this happens when you're opening the bag, settings menu, and in pokemon party where you select Summary, switch, item. Other than that the direction works just fine, i can move up and down in the overworld...

So uh i just started playing for a few hours and my game got bugged, basically everytime i access a menu it goes down. i wanted to go to a previous save but there's only the game.rx data and no previous ones. so i deleted the files and extracted it again from the zip and even tried a new save...
