Welcome-to-the-talem-region.png

JvZAME4.png

Pokémon Decay is supposed to be a best of the first four generations.
It's intended to give the player as much nostalgia as possible by referring to the storylines of the old games.

Due to natural disasters the four regions Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh collided and became one big Region, the Talem Region.
The player wakes up and can't remember what happened. He has to find out what caused those natural disasters.

The flow of the game is similar to the original Pokémon Games:
The player has to defeat 8 Gym Leaders and the Elite Four while facing nearly all the well-known characters and evil teams of the first generations.

Pokemon.png

The Talem Region is inhabited by Pokémon from the first four generations.

Later Evolutions of those Pokémon are also included.

For self-preservation-reasons they had to adjust themself to the new environment.

That's why many of them had to change their typing.
Those Pokémon are known as Delta Species.

In total there are 131 Delta Species and 40 Evolutions and Pre-Evolutions of already existing Pokémon.

Minor spoilers

Hello! I have been trying for two days to find the excavation site that Saturn tells me to go to. Can someone please tell me where to go?
Excavation site is the place where you started the game. The first area in the game.

For any dev. there may or may not be an issue with the TM Thunderbolt and its placement at the Power Plant. I have defeated Team Magma, and I went back and forth through all the floors (including the roof) of the Power Plant looking for a red pokeball that contained the TM Thunderbolt. I found one that contained Flash, but not Thunderbolt. According to all available info online, the TM Thunderbolt should be located somewhere in the Power Plant after defeating Team Magma, but it doesn't seem to be. Was wondering if a Dev could check the game coding to make sure this isn't an error. Unless the TM is hidden in a barrel, or obtained through some type of interaction with an NPC. But I talked to most of the NPCs, and none offered the TM. I didn't check all the barrels, because there are hundreds. So I figured the solution must be simpler than that. Unless the online info is wrong, and the TM Thunderbolt was never actually in the Power Plant. Which would make sense if the item was moved to some other game location, and the online info was never updated. Either way, I would like to teach my Magnezone Thunderbolt at some point. Please advise thanks!
After defeating Team Magma Wattson is waiting for you in front of the power plant. He will give you Thunderbolt.

Have you went out of the power plant because if I remember correctly I got the tm after the whole thing with magma and leaving then at the entrance of the power plant Watson gave it to me

Greetings Haunted Ditto, Thank you for your reply. See below:

For any dev: I did as you suggested, and found Wattson. But when I talked with him, all he said was something like: "the power plant is generating again. Yesterday my Magnezone tried to mate with a generator". But Wattson never offered the TM Thunderbolt. And I checked my inventory and I definitely don't have it. I also definitely beat Tabitha on the roof, and I have defeated both Groudon and Kyogre, and I have all 8 badges--and I am currently at Indigo Plateau. So I figured that was roughly equivalent to beating Team Magma. Unless there is more to the story after beating the Elite four than I am unaware of--or I missed something somewhere along the line involving Team Magma that would have finished this side quest. Like for example, I wonder what you would say if I thought it was curious that the only interaction I had with Gym Leader Blaine in the Volcano was when he was talking about Team Magma leaving a bunch of drills behind. I figured if Blaine was in the storyline, that there might be more to his story than I actually completed. But on the surface, it appears not. Since I was able to progress all the way to the Blueport Gym (and Blue lol) without something stopping me, I figured I had met the 'beat Team Magma' requirement. But now I'm a bit confused and curious. But in general, otherwise, Wattson didn't give me Thunderbolt TM as expected, so that to me sounds like a game dev coding issue that needs further exploration. But I am also not sure, for the above reasons. Please advise. Thanks!

Interesting that you say that. Because I did fined Wattson after I beat Tabitha, but he was not at the front of the Power Plant. He was on one of the upper floors, and hadn't moved. He said something like "the power plant is running smoothly again, and the other day my Magnezone tried to mate with a generator". But never offered the TM Thunderbolt. I left the Power Plant and came back, but he never moved locations or offered the TM. I am currently at Indigo Plateau, so I feel like I should have met most or all of the requirements pertaining to 'defeating Team Magma' by now.... but maybe I missed something somewhere along the line. Like with Blaine or something. Or perhaps there is a post elite four win storyline I have yet to explore that somehow involves Team Magma, like with the Legendary pokemon. I haven't actually encountered any legendaries yet. So maybe that's something. I found the Alph Hall at some point, but then lost it. And never found the missing key to unlock the Alph puzzles. Clearly the missing wall key involves a Raikou tablet or something I think... but I am not quite sure where to obtain it. But that may be a separate issue entirely from the problem at hand.

This dialogue is used by Wattson inside the Power Plant. You get the TM in front of the Power Plant. If he isn't there, it might be that you walked past him after the Team Magma attack and now he despawned. Yesterday I saw a playthrough on YT where someone got the TM, maybe check it out. The video is called "I apologize Pokemon Decay, I wasn't familiar with your game." by "SacredAlmighty".

I viewed the video you recommended, and yes I saw the part where the Youtuber gets the TM Thunderbolt. So clearly under normal circumstances it can be done. But as you also mentioned, it also appears what you described as a despawn of the NPC Wattson must have inadvertently happened in my case. And thus far, I have been unable to force him to respawn outside the power plant again. I guess that means I'm stuck, since I've progressed so far into the game already, and probably don't want to revert to a previous save file to correct the error. Unless there is perhaps a way the devs can patch a fix for that issue into the next version of the game? Either way, thanks for at least showing me a potential reason for the error I was seeing.

yes if you dont get the item on time the gym leader is gone for good , why didnt you talk to him when the event happened ? number 1 rule always talk to every NPC , well you live and you learn ha

Where to find HM Fly or something like that? Couldnt find it anywhere, and also a waterfall, perhaps i will get waterfall when i go to indigo plateau

Hey, I've enjoyed playing the game and even beat the league and the Team Rocket postgame story. Right now, I would like to know how to get the Shiny Charm. I know you get it in the Alph Caverns after solving a puzzle, but how do you solve it? Since it shows a glyph of the legendary beasts, I'm guessing it haves something to do with them?

Since I don't want to spoil too much:
There is a connection between the missing legendary Pokemon and the only Pokemon you can encounter in that cave. You might need to catch several of them.

@ghostofelvis Thanks for reporting this! It's going to be fixed in version 1.2.0
You can talk to him again after updating your game file.
For any Dev:

Thanks! I was able to obtain the TM Thunderbolt after the 1.2.0 patch. I actually have a new question now. I was trying to level up my Dragonair, and so I was going through the TM list I found online for Pokemon Decay, mostly looking for dragon type TMs I didn't already have. I found two interesting things. First, I went to beat Drake at the Ghost shipwreck, and got the TM for Dragon Claw. I kind've assumed that Dragonair, being a dragon type, might be able to learn dragon claw. But when I tried to teach the TM to Dragonair, it says 'not able' to learn. I didn't know if this meant Dragon claw could only be learned by Dragonite after evolving, or if there was something wrong with this TM's coding, or if Dragon claw had been reclassified as a move only learnable by certain pokemon (like Charizard or similar). Also, as I proceeded further down the TM list, I found another issue which I wasn't sure...was an issue or not. But it was puzzling nonetheless. What I discovered was that there were at least two TM's on the list that referenced Route locations not on my Town Map, or flyable by Bird Whistle. These TM's were Dragon Pulse and Drain Punch. And the Routes in question were Route 20 and Route 21--and that these higher routes don't currently show up anywhere on the Town Map. On my current town map, I am only able to fly to Route 18 at the highest route number. Which means to me possibly one of two things. First, that there are three routes somewhere that I have not yet explored, namely Routes 19, 20, and 21. Or Second, that these routes do exist already on the Town Map, but have been renamed something else. Like 'Devoured Path' or 'Covey Ridge' or 'Mountain Pass' ect. But in either case, it appears neither the TM Dragon Pulse or the TM Drain Punch are in my current item inventory. Much like the problem I was having with Thunderbolt, but perhaps in a different way. Which means I probably haven't encountered them yet. So I was wondering if I could get some clarification on the actual intended locations for those two TM's, and also whether or not Dragon Claw was meant to be a move that Dragonair could learn. If its a coding error, was wondering if that might be something patchable in the next update. And if its a location issue, was wondering why it's not showing up on my Town Map as a flyable or walkable location. And if it is supposed to be somewhere, where it might be, and how or when was I meant to get there in the storyline. Please advise thanks!.

Nice to hear you finally got Thunderbolt!
There is no TM list for Pokemon Decay online. At least no official one?! You can check the ingame dex for info on levelup and TM moves. Dragonair obviously cannot learn this move due to having no claws. Official Pokemon's movepools are based on BDSP btw.

For the other two TMs. The routes do exist, but aren't reachable yet. The map will update once they are visitable. We didn't do our job THAT sloppy. Haha

Actually that does make sense about dragonair not having claws. Didn't think of that lol. I guess I was thinking more in terms of its dragon typing. So in theory Dragonite then should be able to learn it. Its also good to know that the missing routes exist. I just think I saw the 'game is complete' banner at the top of the page, and figured that meant there wouldn't be any major content updates like adding new routes, more just for minor bug fixes and things. I wasn't aware that the TM list i found wasn't official, since it seemed to be the only one I ran across that referenced Pokemon Decay specifically. I found it here: https://walkthroughforgaming.wordpress.com/2025/07/31/pokemon-decay-tm-locations/ . It seemed to be mostly correct at a glance. And sorry, I wasn't trying to imply you didn't do your jobs. I actually am not using a game guide, so I don't know all the in and outs of the storyline and how things are found. As an example, yesterday while I was looking for the missing routes, I ended up at the ghost ship, as I mentioned. As it turns out, purely by accident (and not because I was looking for it at all), I found Origin Hollow--an area of the game I didn't even know existed up until that point. And which wasn't marked on my town map until I talked to...Steven I think, who marked it. Had it not been for that random chance, I probably would have swam right by that area and not looked at it twice again, otherwise. But I guess that was also kind of the point of it, in that it wasn't supposed to be easy to find, by nature--so other trainers don't exploit the rare extinct pokemon. Interestingly, I also found the underwater base a while back, but haven't done much with it because I haven't gotten to the part of the storyline that may use it. So I figured there may have been a similar method for unlocking the missing routes of which I was not aware. But it's good to hear your input that it wasn't so much an unlocking issue, as it was a 'they aren't in the game yet' issue. I am also not sure what BDSP is offhand...

The routes ARE in the game. You just aren't far enough. Just like Origin Hollow they will show up on the map once you can reach them.

BDSP = Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Yeah, I've never seen that guide before. You should stay away from it and use the official documentation which is linked in the thread.

Is the 7th gym intended to be a you can't stop moving to finish the floor puzzle or was it supposed to be like the gen 3 gym where you can take your time to do it? I just find it as a near impossibility to get anywhere in that gym in frostvale. I love the game but that is painful I can turn twice before falling down to the basement. or is it normal if you are walking?

Okay it was a base game issue never mind. I just updated to the 1.2 and it is not a nightmare anymore.

Question, I am trying to get Onfleek'd and have Farfetch'd holding the Leek. I have maxed out happiness and have had a battle with 3+ critical hits in it in hopes to evolve. The sheet just says evolve but what method?
