Welcome to the seventh annual Relic Castle Game Jam! My name is Cat and I'll be hosting another game jam here on Relic Castle!

For the uninformed: a game jam is an event where developers will get together and make a game. It sounds simple at first glance, but making a good game is much more difficult and time consuming than you might think. Participating in one is a great way to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and polish your overall experience as a game developer.

Can you believe we're already more than halfway through 2021? I mean as judge it feels like I was just judging the second Winter Game Jam... yeesh. If you're interested in seeing what previous entrants have created, check out Fox's archive thread!

The Pokémon fan game community is an amazing place, and that's all thanks to each and every one of you. Take pride in that, and your hard work! Let's make this game jam a special one!

  • Additional Information: I'm making a Banette & Guilmon-style game, but with a standard amount of gameplay, as opposed to none, as a homage to Smoked Paprika. A jam project like that typically doesn't require a lot of art, it mostly is a writing and atmosphere job, so if you know how to do fogs well in essentials, that's a plus. I'm a professional composer and a veteran writer, if that matters, and I'll try to write a decent story and maybe make a small soundtrack for the game.

Heya! I would love some sprites made for sure! I loved your work in Bushido, the sprites were really nice!

  • Looking to recruit: Spriters for Overworld and Trainer sprites only, overworlds are for main character and NPCs, probably no more than 8-10 sprite sets are needed, maybe a couple more, but not sure at this moment.

I'm no expert to be honest, but I'm quite confident in my writing (dialogues, narrative etc) I've written a lot of poems in the past and my creative writing is up to the mark, if I say so myself, (I could also proofread) also, if you'd like me to provide some of my poetry or writing for examples, I could do so!
