Created with RPG Maker XP and Pokemon Essentials (V21.1 & a lot of tutorials from Thundaga), Pokemon Cackalacky takes a very similar approach to the mainline games, with 8 gym leaders to defeat, an Elite Four after that, and even some post game at the battle frontier. The game takes place in the state of North Carolina (often called "Old Cackalacky") and the player will travel through the various real-life cities. You can roam the beaches of WIlmington for fossils, explore the mountains of Asheville drinking "brews" or battle trainers in the capital city of Raleigh.
This game has 104 brand new, original Pokemon with original pixel art, and new moves have been added as well. The post-game offers a battle factory/tower incorporating these new pokemon with already existing Gen 1-3 Pokemon for some fun cross overs.
Overall, the plotline for this game starts off as usual with the player going away from home to start their own adventure. But eventually, they are thrust into action as Team Rocket starts tinkering with the potential impacts of radiation on Pokemon at the Nuclear Power Plant. Can you stop them and address the fallout from their actions? Can you collect all 8 gym badges and defeat the Elite Four? Come give Pokemon Cackalacky a try!
